The Leaving Certificate Applied course is a distinct, self-contained two-year Leaving Certificate programme aimed at preparing students for adult and working life. It emphasises forms of achievement and excellence which the established Leaving Certificate has not recognised in the past.
Students who feel that they are not adequately catered for by other Leaving Certificate programme's would benefit from this programme.
LCA aims to:
- Prepare students for adult and working life.
- Recognise the talents of all students.
- Promote communication and decision making skills.
- Apply their knowledge and skills to the solution of real problems.

Students are assessed in three ways:
Satisfactory Completion of Modules 62 credits (31%)
Student Tasks (7) 70 credits (35%)
Final Examinations 68 credits (34%)
Total 200 credits (100%)
