Coláiste Bríde is proud to be an Active School, dedicated to promoting physical education and activity within our community. Our Active School Flag (ASF) programme encourages students to engage in a variety of fun and inclusive physical activities, both during and outside of school hours. Through initiatives like Active Schools Week and our comprehensive PE curriculum, we strive to foster a lifelong love of fitness and well-being.
We Are An Active School
An Active School strives to achieve a physically educated and physically active school community. Here is what it looks like in Coláiste Bríde:
- Physical Education - PE timetables are in compliance with DES recommendations. We deliver a broad and balanced PE curriculum for all students, taught by qualified PE teachers.
- Active Schools Week - Active Schools Week is a highlight of our school calendar, with a fantastic variety of physical activities on offer. Focuses on FUN and INCLUSIVE physical activity opportunities for both students and staff.
- Physical Activity - We provide a broad range of physical activity opportunities for students of all interests and abilities. All teachers promote physical activity within their subject area. The active indicator is part of our Wellbeing plan for all students in all classes.
