Colaiste Bride Arts Council
The Art Council is a vibrant team of passionate student artists who come together under the guidance of our dedicated Art teacher to nurture and celebrate creativity within our school. United by a shared love for the visual arts, these students work collaboratively on meaningful projects, events, and initiatives that bring beauty, color, and inspiration to our school environment. Through their efforts, the Art Council not only enhances our school with student-led artwork but also fosters a sense of pride, expression, and belonging. Their work invites everyone - students, parents, and staff alike - to experience the joy and power of artistic expression in everyday school life.
The Council is made up of two groups: a Senior Leadership Team and a Junior Leadership Team. This structure allows students of all year groups to get involved, while also providing younger members with the chance to learn from their senior peers. It encourages mentorship, builds confidence, and ensures that everyone's voice is heard—creating a strong, supportive community built around a shared love of art.
Throughout the school year, the Art Council has worked on a range of creative projects and events, including Legacy Projects, Wellbeing Week, World Book Day, and Darkness into Light etc. We also collaborate with other subject departments, such as Science and Technology, to bring visual expression into different areas of school life. One of our proudest achievements has been contributing to large-scale pieces like the mural on the back wall of the school and in the GPA, which reflect our commitment to making a lasting artistic impact in our school environment.
As part of our mission to encourage younger students to explore their creativity, we also hold art workshops for the Junior Council. These workshops give them the opportunity to build skills, express themselves, and gain confidence in a relaxed, supportive setting—while strengthening the bond between junior and senior members of the Art Council.
