l2lp image.jpg

Level 2 Learning Programme (L2LP) is intended for a small number of students students with specific special educational needs who are currently unable to engage with the Junior Cycle at Level 3. Students undertaking the L2LP create a portfolio of work over their Junior Cycle. The portfolio can consist of worksheets, audio, photograph, video, artefacts etc. The portfolio with be submitted accreditation by the school for the JCPA (Junior Cycle Profile of Achievement).

It is envisaged that, wherever possible, students in mainstream settings who are being considered for this programme will follow their Level 2 Learning Programmes (L2LPs) within mainstream classes to ensure maximum inclusion. However, there may be instances where small group or one-to-one instruction is more suitable. When a student is undertaking the L2LP, they may also be able to study one or two subjects at Level 3 with the option to sit a State Examination in 3rd Year. The L2LP is aligned with Level 2 of the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ).
