Our Ethos

Coláiste Bríde is a Catholic, Presentation post-primary school for girls within CEIST, Catholic Education an Irish Schools Trust. The School aims, in the spirit of Nano Nagle’s vision:

  1. To nurture the personal, academic and spiritual wellbeing of each student in a caring, inclusive learning environment with the support of parents/ guardians and staff
  2. To cherish equally all students in our care, to prepare them with confidence, strength of character and a sense of purpose, ready to take their place as respectful citizens and leaders in the 21st century global society

Our school vision for 2022–2025 is rooted in the values of Respect and Kindness, and is expressed through a number of key priorities. We promote Positive Behaviours through our Positive Behaviour Policy, Restorative Practices, and Anti-Bullying initiatives. We value Attendance, encouraging full participation with the message that every school day counts. Our commitment to innovation is reflected in our focus on ICT, supported by a comprehensive Digital Learning Plan and enhanced infrastructure. We prioritise Wellbeing for All, guided by a Wellbeing Framework and a dedicated Student Support Team We are also dedicated to recognising and supporting students with SEN, ensuring that everyone learns in an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Clear and effective Communication is fostered through our strategy and the use of our website and social media platforms. We embrace Teamwork as part our SSE, engaging in collaborative practice and continuous improvement through the School Self-Evaluation process. Our curriculum is strengthened by Trinity Access 21, encouraging students to consider and prepare for third-level education. We also encourage Distributed Leadership, offering meaningful leadership opportunities to both staff and students. Finally, we are committed to the principles of Junior Cycle reform, ensuring a modern, student-centred approach to learning.
